Part-Time 5th Assistant Public Defender

The Wyoming County Public Defender’s Office has an opening for a part time 5th Assistant Public Defender.

Job Duties: Represent Defendants as Counsel At First Appearance (CAFA), as part of the Public Defender’s obligation to represent defendants at arraignments under its grants from the New York State Office of Indigent Legal Services. Collect data from those arraignments, and report same to the Public Defender’s Office to be included into the PD Case Management System for reporting to the state.

Off-hours in-person appearances for these CAFA arraignments will be required in Town and Village Courts, once the current pandemic restrictions are ended. There will be no regular courts assigned, as this position is solely for CAFA.

The United States District Court for the Western District of New York is seeking a Financial Specialist to support the Court. This professional administrative position encompasses the management of Judiciary resources and helps keep the Court operational. This key position performs and coordinates administrative, technical, and professional work related to financial, accounting, and budgetary activities of the Court.
