NYS Courts Issue Mask Mandate for Attorneys and Members of the Public Who Enter the Courthouse

Effective August 13, 2021, per the Chief Administrative Judge of the New York State Unified Court System, to ensure that judges and court employees, as well all courthouse visitors, are safe and protected in our courthouses to the maximum extent possible, we are once again requiring that all individuals wear a mask in all public areas of courthouses and court-related facilities, including courtrooms. The white visitor cards and the green attorney/agency passes no longer exempt you from wearing a face mask.

We regret having to take this step but are convinced it is a necessary precaution to protect against the increased risks posed by the Delta variant.

A copy of the email from the Chief Administrative Judge Hon. Lawrence K. Marks announcing this change is below this Notice to the Bar.

Thank you to everyone for your continuing cooperation and patience.
