Member Engagement Coordinator & Committee Administrator

Non-Exempt

Estimated Salary Range $50,000 to $56,000

Summary/Objective
The Member Engagement Coordinator & Committee Administrator assists the Director of Marketing, Communications and Operations with member engagement and retention for the Bar Association of Erie County, including administering committee operations. This role is important in maintaining strong relationships with members, ensuring their satisfaction, and driving membership growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Member Engagement:
    • Assist with implementing strategies to increase member engagement and participation in BAEC activities, events, and programs;
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with members through regular communication and feedback mechanisms;
    • Identify and address member needs and concerns promptly and effectively;
    • Welcome new members.
  • Membership Growth:
    • Assist with executing membership recruitment and retention plans to increase membership numbers and diversity;
    • Manage the day-to-day duties of the membership lifecycle, membership renewals, and track membership data.
  • Member Database:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records, including demographic information, practice areas, and contact details;
    • Run database reports as needed.
  • Member Services:
    • Coordinate all Committee functions
    • Send out Committee meeting notices; keeps calendars updated to reflect Committee meetings;
    • Reserve rooms for all Committee meetings; attend as needed;
    • Coordinate lunches (orders on behalf of Chairs) and other needs for Committee meetings, such as AV and new member welcomes;
    • Advise other staff members of status of Committee meetings and compiles minutes for distribution to Board;
    • Coordinate Committee Chair orientations and monthly Chair meetings;
    • Provide exceptional customer service to members by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting with membership-related needs.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless member experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in membership management and customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using membership management software or CRM systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for the legal profession and a commitment to the association's mission.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a professional association or non-profit organization.
  • Knowledge of legal industry trends and challenges.
  • Ability to collect, clean, and analyze data and extract meaningful insights.
