Attorney Grievances

The Bar Association of Erie County (“BAEC”) may review, investigate, and dispose of a client complaint involving allegations of minor delay that resulted in no permanent harm to the client, fee disputes, personality conflicts between attorney and client, or other minor matters that, in the discretion of a committee or chief attorney, do not warrant action by a committee or the Appellate Division.

Below are the grievance documents.

Please note the following:

The Bar Association of Erie County can only accept grievances against an attorney filed by his or her client. If you have a complaint not involving your own attorney, please contact the Appellate Division 8th District Attorney Grievance Committee at 716-845-3630.

An original signed grievance is required. Emailed and faxed grievances cannot be accepted. Additional pages can be attached to the grievance form detailing your complaint. Photocopies of documents you think are pertinent can be included with your grievance form. Please mail your completed grievance to the Bar Association of Erie County, 438 Main Street, 6th Floor, Buffalo, NY 14202 to the attention of Executive Director Anne M. Noble or Dispute Settlement Tribunal Assistant Leslie Housh.

If you have any questions, please contact Executive Director Anne M. Noble or Dispute Settlement Tribunal Assistant Leslie Housh at 716-852-8687.
