#2316 Spotlight on Ethics: Depictions of Attorney Ethics in Popular Culture and Current Events

Presented on November 16, 2018

2.0 CLE credits: Ethics

Join us for a different kind of ethics training. A panel of experienced practitioners examine the most talked about legal ethics issues of our day using video clips and current events to aid a lively and entertaining discussion. Lawyers and the legal profession have been much in the news lately. High profile investigations and prosecutions have highlighted issues of attorney-client privilege, confidentiality and conflicts of interest. At the same time, the legal profession has always been fodder for popular culture, where issues of legal ethics are covered with differing degrees of attention and accuracy. What do these depictions of legal ethics tell the public? What do they mean for the legal profession? Hear our panel discuss these and other issues.

Hon. Amy C. Martoche, Buffalo City Court
Margaret C. Callanan, Esq., Principal Counsel, Attorney Grievance Committee, Eighth Judicial District
