#2275 Federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
Presented on February 22, 2017
1.0 CLE credit: 0.5 Areas of Professional Practice, 0.5 Skills
The Erie Institute of Law presented a workshop on the federal Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Michael Kuzma, Daire Brian Irwin and Leslie James Pickering discussed how attorneys, journalists, historians, or any person can file successful FOIA requests with federal agencies. The presenters share tactics they have learned from the various FOIA requests and appeals that they have submitted. Real examples of FOIA requests, appeals, and releases are used to demonstrate how to pry loose records from oft-times recalcitrant federal agencies.
