In reference to NYS Attorney Secure Pass ID cards, the 8th Judicial District will be actively working to ensure that all expired passes are removed from the system in accordance with the policies governing their use. This is a necessary component to ensure the overall integrity of the secure pass program. Court Officers charged with checking cards at facility entrances will be instructed to collect any card that is presented with an expired date so that they may be returned to the Department of Public Safety forthwith. The only exception would be an individual who presents a current receipt for renewal, on the same card that is expired. Individuals in possession of the current renewal receipt may keep possession of the expired card and the receipt for renewal so they may be processed for entry the same as an individual with a current Secure Pass card. Applications for renewal may be obtained through the requisite Chief Clerks Office.
