CIti - Senior Compliance Analyst (Regulatory & Policy)

The primary objective of the position is to support Citi's compliance with laws, rules and regulations related to interactions with U.S. public officials, and secondarily, with gifts and entertainment rules and laws.  The Senior Compliance Analyst reports directly to the Compliance Director and up the reporting chain to Citi's Chief Compliance Officer.

Key responsibilities:

  • Advise employees on applicable regulations and Citi’s Political Activities policy
  • Review requests by employees to make personal political contributions or to provide gifts, meals or entertainment to public officials, and approve or deny based on applicable laws, rules and regulations
  • Work with various business units to identify employees involved in specific, regulated activities and provide related training
  • Draft policies, procedures, and supporting materials, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders on implementation
  • Develop presentations for senior management; create and deliver training to targeted employee groups; issue periodic communications regarding certain policies
  • Liaise with audit and testing teams, business compliance officers, and information technology on political activities and gift/entertainment issues
  • Advise on the application of the Citi Gifts and Entertainment policy and ICG procedures; participate in the development and implementation of a global automated system
  • Complete special projects as needed to comply with new laws; to further develop the Political Activities unit; and in support of Regulatory Compliance initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years Compliance, risk management, legal or regulatory background preferred, ideally in a financial services organization
  • Ability to read, understand, apply and explain relevant laws, rules, regulations and policies
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to examine current processes/methods and identify areas for improvement
  • Demonstrated work ethic, capable of disciplined self-motivation and commitment to the highest standards of professional integrity, maturity and judgment
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees
  • Strong software proficiency (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Proven ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and respond to time-sensitive requests
  • JD required; MBA or strong business or finance education preferred

The Town of Amherst is requesting proposals from qualified individuals and firms to provide Litigation/Defense Counsel Services. Using this Request for Qualifications (RFQ), the Town intends to establish a pool of attorneys who will be available to provide legal services as needed during the contract term. One or more individual/firms may be selected to provide services. If selected, a retainer agreement will be offered at a compensation rate set by the Town Board.

The Law Department of the Town is seeking litigation and defense counsel services as it is frequently called upon to provide outside counsel for the defense and representation of Town officials/officers/directors and employees.
