Erie Institute of Law Mission Statement

To plan Continuing Legal Education program opportunities for the Institute to meet the professional education needs of lawyers in the Western New York Community; to monitor and evaluate the program to ensure that high quality, effective and timely programs are offered; and to maintain the Institute's position as a leader and primary provider of Continuing Legal Education.

Accreditation

The Erie Institute of Law has been accredited by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board as an accredited provider of continuing legal education for live presentations and non-traditional CLE course formats.

MCLE RULES AND REGULATIONS

Webcasts

The Erie Institute of Law is making our live CLE programs available via Webcast to your mobile device or computer! The Webcasts occur in real time and make it possible for busy practitioners to earn CLE credits from any location. Through a special software program a live feed of the CLE program can be delivered to your computer or mobile device. Any accompanying PowerPoint presentations or course documents will be emailed to you when you register at least one day prior to the live program. Webcast programs are not approved for newly admitted attorneys.

Tuition Assistance

Special financial arrangements can be made for those who demonstrate financial hardship in writing to the Erie Institute of Law. Determination of financial hardship is decided on a case by case basis. For more information contact the Erie Institute of Law at 716.852.8687.

CLE Passbooks

We've got your ticket to savings! CLE Passbooks give you the opportunity to attend high-quality, convenient, half-day educational programs at a bargain rate.  One pass buys any half-day seminar for only $66.00 ($14.00 off the regular seminar price). Passes are available in books of six for $400.00, that is six seminars for the price of five. Attach a pass when you mail your advance registration form, or bring the pass with you when you register at the door. The passes are completely transferable and can be shared with other members of your firm, including staff members and paralegals.

Passbooks are valid for two years from the date of purchase and are not replaceable if lost. No cash refunds are available for unused or expired passes. To purchase, please contact Mary Kohlbacher at 716-852-8687.

Cancellation Policies

Program Cancellations

Should a program be cancelled for any reason, a notice will be posted on this web site's Home page. In addition, a message will be left on the Bar Association's phone system. Please call (716) 852-8687.

Participant Cancellations

If you are unable to attend a seminar for which you have already registered, please call Mary Kohlbacher at 716.852.8687 ext.115. For a full refund, notice of cancellation must be received before the date of the seminar. Registrants who are pre-registered and fail to attend will received course materials in lieu of a refund.

MCLE Transcripts Available

The Erie Institute of Law maintains attendance records for lawyers who attend its programs. Individual transcripts are available upon request and provide: title of program; date; and CLE credit hours broken down by substantive category.
