Each year, the Bar Association sponsors a wide range of law-related educational activities in connection with Law Day, which is observed nationally on May 1. Several educational programs are conducted in conjunction with local elementary and high schools.
Students are encouraged to enter a poster contest designed to help them understand the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Mock trial tournaments allow young people to learn by experience as they act out real-life courtroom dramas. The students who win awards in the various competitions are publicly recognized at the luncheon. Awards to attorneys and community members whose work has advanced the administration of justice are also presented at this popular event.
