A not-for-profit professional association, the Bar Association of Erie County was founded in 1887 to "cultivate the science of jurisprudence; promote reform in the law; facilitate the administration of justice; elevate the standard of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession; and cherish the spirit of (camaraderie) among the members thereof."
The Association's goal is to provide members with programs and services to enhance their practice and enrich their experience in the legal profession. The BAEC leadership and professional staff are dedicated to meeting high expectations for quality, commitment and service. The BAEC is the largest local bar association outside of the metropolitan New York City area. Our membership includes active attorneys, judges, corporate counsel, law professors, government lawyers and law students.
